We invite applications for the participation in Civil society workshops, between March 18 and 21, 2019 in Brussels. Travel and accomodation will be covered for participants.

CALL FOR ACTIVISTS

Across Europe, the rise of racist, fascist and far-right political parties and sentiments is posing a huge threat to democracy, security, and in particular the rights of people of colour, minorities and migrants. The upcoming European Parliament elections in May 2019 risks a shift toward racist and discriminatory political narratives and policies and increased political polarization.

Ahead of the European Parliament elections Each One Teach One (EOTO), the European Network Against Racism (ENAR), the European Parliament Anti-Racism and Diversity Intergroup (ARDI), the Transatlantic Minority Political Leadership Conference (TMPLC) and the European Network for People of African Descent (ENPAD) will organize a 3 day programme for anti-racist activists working to combat racist narratives in the European Parliament elections.

Workshop programme:

Anti-racist activists working in their respective countries will join a programme of events designed to promote exchange of knowledge and good practice on:

Anti-racist narratives communications strategies
Community mobilization
Campaigning methods
EU anti-racism and anti-discrimination policy

Delegates will have the opportunity to network with other anti-racist activists, as well as prominent politicians leading the fight against racism in Europe. The workshops will be conducted in English.

We invite applications from:

Those currently working in their national/ local context to promote anti-racism ahead of the EU elections (please detail your activities in the application link)
